For the second dayyou can also take up the activities, such as horseback riding, trekking and cycling in Estancia. A day out in Calafate Mountain Park with your family would make for a fun day as well. Watching the snow-covered peaks, exploring forest trails, and indulging in winter sports like snowboarding and snowshoeing are some of the things you get to do there. Save a day to explore the town of El Calafate, and do not forget to local craft beer at La Zorra Taproom and a sweet meal from Puerto de Frutos on the road of Avenida del Libertador San Martín. One can also shop for handicrafts, souvenirs, clothes, etc in the nearby market.

Must-do thing in El Calafate: Kayaking in the ice-cold water of the Upsala Glacier.

3. El Chaltén: One of the most beautiful and popular destinations of Patagonia is El Chaltén, also known as the ‘smoking mountain.’ One of the most popular tourist attractions of this town is Los Glaciares National Park, which is the best for trekking activities. The hikes to Mt. Fitz Roy, Laguna Capri, and Laguna de los Tres are simply breath-taking in every sense of the word. A boat ride to the Glacial Lake will be an added adventure to the day.

On other days, one can plan to go on rafting in the De Las Vueltas River Canyon or hike to the natural waterfall, Salto El Chorrillo, which can be reached after a trek amid beautiful streams, blooming wildflowers and wooden forest trails. Also, it is recommended to get a post-trek massage at Spa Yaten, located in the main town. Apart from trekking, you can also indulge in horseback riding and fly fishing. On a leisure day, you can also spend some quality time at the less-frequently visited lake called Lago de Desierto. Since it is a lesser known place, it is quite beautiful place to hang around.

Must-do thing in El Chaltén:  Go ice-climbing on the Viedma Glacier

4. San Carlos de Bariloche: The main reason why people visit Bariloche is its national park, Nahuel Huapi. The park is known for its lush greenery, snow-capped mountain peaks, a piercing-blue lake, and activities, such as hiking, kayaking, and rafting. Another way to spend your day would be visiting the small yet gorgeous town of El Boson which is the hiking route to the beautiful Cajon de Azul, another lake. Volcano Lanin can be quite an attraction for adventurers since it hasn’t been declared extinct by the experts.

Mitre Street, Cerro Campanario, Mascardi Lake, etc. are some more attractions that can be covered in a day or two. The chocolate shops at Mitre street are definitely worth a buy for international travellers. You should take them home as a souvenir as well. All in all, your visit to Bariloche will definitely be worth it.

Must-do thing in Bariloche: A visit to Isla Victoria, a small island situated on Lake Hahuel Nuapi, in Nahuel Huapi National Park. It is home to great flora and fauna and some evident cave drawings.
