Are you using Web Page Rotators correctly?
Webpage Rotators provide the function of rotating several
webpages with the use of one URL.
This can be a great way to promote several products,
webpages, biz ops, etc. providing they are used correctly.
The method that I will share with you requires a little bit of effort to set up
but will allow you to maximize your marketing efforts by using a webpage
rotator.
It is imperative that you use a webpage rotator for all your advertising/marketing
efforts so that you do not waste your time, effort and hard earned money.
Let’s set the scenario so that you can understand why a
webpage rotator is imperative to your advertising/marketing efforts.
You have a product that you want to get in front of as many people that you
can.
You decide to create three different sales pages for the product that outlines
the product and their benefits in a different way. You also set your sales
pages up with a different identifier to track the results of each page. You do
this to see what sales page gets better results.
You can take each sales page and market each one individually causing you to do
three times the work and when you decide which sales page produces the best
results for you and stop promoting the other two sales pages, which are still good but
they don’t produce the same results causing that advertising to be a waste of
your time and efforts.
Let’s take a different approach to the same scenario and use a webpage rotator.
You take your three sales page URLs and place them inside a rotator.
This gives you one URL to advertise instead of three. You have already reduced
the amount of time being spent to promote your three sales pages individually.
When someone sees your advertising and are attracted enough to click on your ad
one of your three sales pages will be displayed. After advertising/marketing
your rotator URL all over the place, you get your results and now know which
sales page is producing the best results.
With a rotator you simply delete the other two sales pages URLs from your
rotator and now all your links that have already been placed will display your
best sales page.
If at a later date, the product that you were advertising is no longer available
– if you had been promoting that product directly without using a rotator
system – you will have to hunt down and change all those links one by one, which is time consuming and a lot of work. However by using a rotator
system all you will need to do is update the URL's inside the rotator and all
your advertising that you have done will now show your new sales page without
wasting your advertising efforts.
Rotators also allows you to reduce the length of your
affiliate/product long URLs. You can use a URL shortner however you don’t have
to much control over your URLs with shortners.
The best method to use is a function found in webhosting services called a
redirect.
A redirect has many advantages and benefits to using it. The main benefit is it
allows you to market within your brand completely.
For example;
Here is your sales page URL: http://yourwebsite.com/yoursalespage.html
Here is your rotator link at CoopMG: http://coopmg.com/r/yoursalespage
You now have three options on how to use your rotator link – directly, through
a short URL service, or through your own branding.
Here is your sales page shortened with a URL shortner system: http://wmturls.com/yoursalespage - this promotes WMTURL.com shortner service
Here is your sales page using a redirect from your hosting
service: http://yourwebsite.com/salespage - this promotes your website allowing
you to maintain your brand.
As you can see a redirect provides you the best option to use when promoting
your webpage rotator because it maintains your branding.
Now let’s talk about what is not so good with webpage rotators.
Many webpage rotators have banners circulating at the top of the screen. This
can take attention away from your webpage being displayed and may even direct
the individual who was attracted to your ad in the first place, away from your
webpage thus reducing the effectiveness of your marketing efforts and may even
waist your advertising dollars.
Free or Paid webpage rotators that offer rotating banners make money by selling
these banners to their members. Many do not pay any commissions on these banner
sales and getting their members to do the marketing for them.
Regardless if a webpage rotator is a paid or free service - you should only use
a web page rotator service that does not display ads across the top or anywhere
else on the page unless you are getting compensated for your marketing efforts.
Many traffic exchanges, text ad exchanges as well as other
advertising/marketing websites do not function properly with the use of rotators
with ads because they break frames. These marketing websites will not allow you
to use a rotator in them that causes their systems to not function properly
resulting in your rotator to be not as effective by reducing your marketing
usability.
CoopMG.com offers a webpage rotator that is ad free period. We do not sell or
rotate banners on our webpage rotators.
What you SHOULD NOT DO with webpage rotators.
You should not add a bunch of different splash pages for a bunch of different systems or programs and the reason is that by doing this you are reducing the focus of one item/sales page/site/program/etc. which usually results in no sales or signups.
And here is why: When you focus on one item/sales page/site/program/etc. your marketing efforts is 100% on that item/sales page/site/program/etc.. By adding just one additional URL that is not related to each other you reduce the focus by 50% for each URL. And when you add additional URL's for different item/sales page/site/program/etc., you reduce it even more.
Do yourself a favor and DON'T DO this. It is a complete waste of time, effort and money.

If you know PHP you can create a rotator/randomiser with a few lines of code. Or outsource it to a PHP geek. Rotators are quite useful contraptions.

When Randy first showed me the Power of Rotators I was dumbfounded I thought rotators were useless unless you had a bunch of people in the same company that wanted to be a part of your rotator campaign I didn't relize the power of using a Rotator you can even use Rotators to Track your Advertising and if you are not tracking your advertising you are Bleeding Money as Darren Olander Puts it in his latest Email Tip. If you already have a rotator and you don't know what you can use it for this arti

I like how you point out using a redirect in place of a shortner as this another useful way of branding everything you do with a link. The fact that you can change the links that are in your rotator and not have to log into to every site your using it on and change it on every site is not only a credit saver but a time saver as well.
I use rotators effectively using the methods that you have brought up.

Using a rotator also allows you to get a new site out to the traffic sources in one quick copy and paste to strike while the iron is hot. The one item you mentioned about the distraction from the banner advertising, I find a lot of traffic co-ops do the same thing.
Great tips on the split testing using the rotators, works like a champ! :-)

Rotators are a big time saver indeed and a great tool to help tracking. I use rotators my self, site rotators and banner rotators. Many people use site rotators and out in as many sites as allowed. Which is not always a good thing. When you have a rotator with a hundred sites in it each site has only a chance of 1:100 to be seen. It is also a know fact that people need to see a page a few times before the click it. There for I think it is best to use rotators as you described. Or limit the numbe
