Over a time, every carpet has suffered with pile direction. That is the direction in which the fibers of the carpet run. Reverse pile occurs when there is a section of the carpet in which the direction of the pile runs the opposite way. When there should be pile reversal then it should be caused by the permanent bending of the carpet pile fibers which then reflect he light differently. In this respect it is very comparable to other natural fibers such as velvet or suede. When there should be pile carpets often display a characteristic called shading. There should be appearance of patches of different colored carpet after vacuuming or in areas that have been walked on. These variations are caused by little changes in the way that the pile is sitting in relation to other fibers. This phenomenon is simply the result of a trick of light. The sides of fibers of carpets should be reflect more light that the tips of the fiber. When the carpet piles are lying then they will seem to create a light pile and this is known as water pooling, although water has nothing to do with it. There are some people who will refer to it as shading, although the term shading can refer to other carpet conditions such as pile pressure. It is a permanent condition that affects mainly cut pile carpets, especially plush pile styles. These carpet fibers should be bending over in some areas and they create a significant shading effect due to the light being reflected off the side of the fiber, rather than absorbed as it is into the surrounding unaffected carpet.

If you don’t indicate this problem then it can often be noticed simply by looking at your carpet from opposite sides of the room. In that case, you have to look at your carpet from one end of the room and after that walk to the other end and turn around. You may notice that there should be appearance of dark spots in one direction after another.

Treatment of Pile reversal shading:-

There are so many wear and tear problems in the carpet. You can of course use runners and rugs in some super high traffic spots which help to reduce the effect on your permanent carpet. At that time you need regular vacuuming and maintenance cleans which will help to remove the sharp debris from the carpet that cuts the carpet fiber and makes it more susceptible to pile training.
You have also used steam cleaning which helps to readjust the fibers, but they usually revert to type after a short period. There are most of the carpets will have some form of warranty and pile reversal may be covered. So, it should be suggested that you have to discuss this problem with your carpet supplier before making a purchase.
