Are you ready to begin your TEFL course?

by ELL T. Teach English as a foreign language
Although you might not have such a large audience, you should begin practicing speaking in front of others. Beginning TEFL lessons may be both an exhilarating and nerve-wracking time. Although you are a little nervous about the new task you face, you can't stop daydreaming about your future after earning your TEFL certification. Where will you call home? Who will study English with you? What novel cultural practices are you going to learn? Even though it's exciting and enjoyable, there are a few last-minute preparations you should do to make sure everything is set up as you get ready for TEFL training. You will soon have a certification in h and be an A+ student.

Here are tips when preparing to start TEFL courses:

1- Organize your schedule:

Whether your Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) course lasts a month or six, you'll need to make time in your calendar to accommodate it. Will you abandon other responsibilities, such as school or a job, in order to devote all of your time to the course? Or will you be given some wiggle room and only devote a few hours each week to your TEFL course? In any case, have a calendar that is well-organized and has due dates on it.

If you intend to enroll in one of the rigorous month-long TEFL courses, you must give time management and organization your complete attention. Be aware that you'll probably miss out on social gatherings with friends and spend your weekends studying or revising TEFL course materials.

2- Review grammar rules:

What? Do you mean I have to teach grammar in order to teach English? The dreaded seven-letter term that all English speakers both know and simultaneously don't know. What happened to the commas? Is it a present simple or present continuous sentence? Did she consume the pizza, or did she consume the pizza? Most native English speakers are familiar with the basics of grammar, but they often struggle to describe and recall every nuance.

But don't worry! That is the purpose of TEFL training. Before you enter your TEFL program wide-eyed and anxious about grammar, it would be a good idea to at least give it a brief refresher as you will be learning how to teach English.

3- Look over pre-course materials:

Before class begins, you may be given reading assignments or other instructions by some TEFL training programs. Examine the resources to familiarise yourself with the lessons you will be studying. It will offer you a good start and give you confidence that you are ready for your TEFL course, much like grammar.

Even if you don't have any materials to go over, you may start getting ready for TEFL classes by doing some web research. See if you can locate some practice exams. Read books, blogs, articles, and podcasts. You may also watch videos on YouTube. You may even ask Siri to fix your pronunciation of every phrase. You get instant access to everything! By entering the "I'm going to kick serious English language booty" pre-TEFL mode.

Conclusion

Get started now that you have completed all of your last-minute TEFL tasks! It takes more than just singing the ABCs and playing games to teach English. A non-native English speaker's life can be altered by it! Become TEFL certified and prepare to take on a classroom full of enthusiastic English language learners.
