Aarti and nine night’s festival in Katra town

Vaishno Devi holy cave is Located on the peaks of Trikuta, where it is  believed  that several centuries ago, as demon Bhairon Nath started chasing a young girl named Vaishno Devi. As mata was disrupted by Bhairon so she went to the cave of Garbh Joon’ near Adhkuwari before being and meditated for nine months in a cave.  Later she behead the demon in the form of kali and went to Trikuta parvat.

Vaishno Devi is a holy shine where pilgrims visit here throughout the year, considering the holy cave   ‘Navratra Festival is celebrated every year in Katra, the base camp of Sri Mata Vaishno Devi which is fully devoted to Vaishno Devi or to goddess Durga.

 In Katra the festival is been celebrated for the nine days where the Festival starts with the formal inauguration ceremony. In the cave the first day prayer is offered to Goddess Mata Vaishno Devi and then other 8 goddess respective to their name. The second prauyey goes to Maa Shailputri, who was the daughter of Parvatraj Himalaya and wife of Lord Shiva. The thirs prayer is dedicated to Maa Brahmachaarini- a symbol of pure love to the world. Fourth day prayer is devoted to Maa Chandraghanta a symbol of justice Maa Kushmaanda, who provides the basic necessities, the 6^th day prayer is for Skand Maa, - differentiation of right from wrong to the world. Furthyer the 7 and 8 day is devoted to Maa Kaatyayini, who battles against the evil and deceitful entities and the 8 are for Maa Kaalratri, who killed Raktabeej. On day 9^th we worship Maa MahaGauri who also liberate the world of evils.

The annual NAVRATRA festival will begin in Katra with the beginning of the nine-days of fasting for nine goddesses. The entire katar and Bhagwan is well decorated with flowers and light and various cultural events and competitions will be held during the festival. To enjoy and celebrate the festival Hundreds of   Thousands of devotees from across the country and abroad arrive in Katra, and take part in the holy prayer of Lord Shiva.

Moreover, during the festival, the entire Katra take and new and religious looks which is weel appreciated by the pilgrims.
