Precision stainless steel strips are used in many industries. Interestingly, these applications are largely not known to others who are not related to the specific industries. The applications are varied and we are going to list the top consumers of precision stainless steel strips.

Aviation: The aviation industry is perhaps the largest consumer of stainless steel or otherwise. Plane fuselages and wings use aluminum compounds in large amounts but there are several steel bits and bobs that are used to hold the aluminum pieces in place. Besides that steel parts are also used in other aerospace applications.

Automotive: Steel is used in huge amounts in the automotive industry. Though new age cars are making use of other materials besides steel, the vast majority of parts use the metal primarily. Automotive industry is making a significant transition to lighter materials, but that is true only for premium brands and makes, mass movers are dependent on steel frames and pillars that hold the structure together. Also, steel parts are used to design springs and suspension parts of automotive which add to a more pliable and pleasant ride for the occupants in a vehicle.

Railways: One cannot talk of steel and not mention railways. Perhaps the most prolific application of steel is the railways where tracks and carriageways are all primarily made of steel to endure the enormous forces and weight trains are trusted with. Though it must be noted that most of the steel that goes into making parts and tracks are not technically precision cut strips but there are certain applications where parts need to be used.

Electricity generation and distribution: The large machinery you see in electricity distribution and generation companies are all made of steel to ensure that they last longer and perform even under immense loads. This is also another reason why steel is so widely used all over the world for generating and distributing energy to the masses.

Medical usage:  From hypodermic needles to parts used in advanced prosthetics there are multiple uses of steel in medical domain. Also steel is also very easy to clean and sterilize hence keeping it clean in a medical environment is very easy, making it the most desirable metal for medical applications.

Oil and Gas: Traditionally the machinery and platform installations used in the oil and gas industry are placed in the midst of seas or oceans where the high content of salt in the air can cause severe damage to the metal parts. Steel is the obvious metal of choice in this case and hence precision steel strips continue to be used throughout the industry worldwide.

Other commercial applications: Besides the one listed above, there are several other novel applications of precision stainless steel strips and most of them are in the commercial space. From simple household applications to furniture and everything in between that needs added reliability and durability invariably uses steel as the major building material.
