Antique True Tibetan Bodhi Seed Mala 108 Beads

These one-of-a-kind traditional bodhi seed malas were purchased directly from a monastery in Nepal.  They have been a part of the Everestartandcrafts personal collection for years.  These 108 wood bodhi seeds are truly stunning.  Simply strung and finished with a guru bead on yellow cord.  

Bodhi seed beads can be used for counting all types of mantras, as well as other prayers, prostrations, circumambulations, and so forth.  It was while meditating under a bodhi tree that Prince Siddhartha attained enlightenment and became the Buddha.  The dark-speckled seeds from this fig tree thus have special meaning for all seekers of divine wisdom.  "Bodhi" in Sanskrit means enlightenment; as an "enlightened" seed many practitioners use these malas for their essence and inherent teachings within each seed.
