Angela Lansbury, passed away 5 days before turning 97

American-British-Irish actress Angela Lansbury began her journey to the heaven, five days before she turned 97. She died, at the age of 96, on 11th of october,2022, tuesday, at1;30am, at her place in Los Angeles, California, dedicating her life to her craft. 

“The children of Dame Angela Lansbury are sad to announce that their mother died peacefully in her sleep at home in Los Angeles at 1:30 AM today, Tuesday, October 11, 2022, just five days shy of her 97th birthday," said her family as they expressed their sorrow in her demise.

Six Tony Award winner, including a lifetime achievement award and three time oscar nominee, she was an actor, a well loved name in broadway musicals, singer, a voice over artist, most famous for her role of Mrs potts in Disney’s adaptation of ‘Beauty and The Beast’. She was barely nineteen when she debuted in the black and white era in the movie “Gaslight(1944)” as a side actor. She became a household name by playing Jessica Fletcher in “Murder, She wrote” as she moved everybody with her skills.

Because of her mature personality, she was preferred for more motherly roles, like in 1962 in the movie,” The Manchurian Candidate” she played Laurence Harvey’s mother, but in fact, she was only three years older than him. Her broadway work, like “Mame” in 1966 startstruck the audience, which resulted in her receiving her first Tony Award. She continued her musical appearances by landing roled in Gypsy, Sweeney Todd, The King and, as well as in Disney’s Bedknobs and broomsticks(1971)

Born in london in 1925, and her career stretching over eight wonderful decades, she gave the world some unforgettable memories that formed the childhood of many  people born in the 90s. Actor Eric McCormack, her colleague in “The Best Man(2012),  stated that,” so privileged I got to spend time with this incredible women, no one like her”.

She once said in an interview that she would probably pass away with one hand on her script as she laughed through the amount of hard work she put into her art. NASA paid their tribute to the gem so lost by referring to the lyrics from “Bearty and The Beast” by posting a photo of ‘Cosmic rose’.
