months long development and testing procedures.

latest update is a development over the previous and the earlier versions of Cupcake, Donut, Éclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb,
Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, Kit Kat, Lollipop, Marshmallow and Nougat.
Following Nougat the Oreo update has been released.

most important aspect of this updates relates to battery consumption and
saving. While other notable features includes alteration of the notification
system and new emojis addition. The new android 8 OS promises to enhance

question is, are you getting update and when?
At
present, many of the users only have the Nabisco’s Oreos to taste.
Android Oreo in Pixels
and Nexus
The
latest version was made exclusively available to the Google Pixel and Pixel XL
users who enrolled themselves under the beta testing programs and were using
the beta 4th version of the Android O. They received the updates as
early as yesterday (i.e. on 22nd August) in India.
While
the non-enrolled Pixel and Pixel XL users phones still run on Nougat versions
and will receive the updates in not more than a couple of weeks. The updates
will be available via OTA (over the air). Due to the regional differences and
other reasons all users may not receive the update at the same time, while the
users of Nexus 5X and 6P will equally soon get it.
Other Android Devices
Going
beyond the Google phones, the other android phone manufacturers as Huawei,
Samsung, Nokia, L.G., HTC, Sony and Motorola are definitely going to take long
to deliver this android update, probably the year’s end. These companies lay a
layer of their own customizations over the original Android and alteration of
preset coding to add their own features and functionalities.
The
new devices launched by these companies as well the existing devices will
receive the updates after a minimum waiting period of six months. Not all the
devices of the companies will receive the updates; only the high end devices
should be expected.
Android Statistics
Presently the android market is dominated by
the devices which run on Lollipop and Marshmallow versions of the OS which date
back to around a year. As per a data, as of August 2017only around 12% of
android devices were running on Nougat 7.0 and astonishingly only 1.2% devices
had Nougat 7.1. The data reflects the software variation across devices.
Not
ignoring the IOS 11 launches this September and the stiff competition which is
going to persist, the android stays at a loss because of low adoption
percentage of its latest technology. A fair OS equality is witnessed among IOS
users as the hardware and software developer is same, devices are limited and no
OS alteration requirements.
