by MarkJ Guillen CEO
The online shopping company will be launching its video streaming service in the Asian market right after the launch of Netflix's service in Japan.

After Netflix,Inc, Amazon is all set to launch its video streaming service Amazon Instant Prime in the Japanese market on October 2, 2015, as per the news by CNBC.com. The stock of America’s largest e-commerce company is up by 0.36% and was trading at a share price of $535.66 on Friday. Along with Amazon Prime, the company will also start selling its Fire Time TV Devices (streaming media box and  Fire TV Stick).

Amazon Prime members in Japan will be required to pay $32 or 3900 Yen for the streaming service. Through this service they will have access to numerous Japanese TV shows and movies. Providing the market with Japanese movies, anime and shows will definitely give Amazon an edge in the market. Furthermore, the company will also allow its subscribers to view Amazon Studio's Original Series, Transparent and Tumble Leaf. At present, the e-commerce company is available in three countries which include Germany, the United States and the United Kingdom.

Amazon does not disclose the number of Prime Subscribers it has but in the Japanese market, the company has about 3 million Prime Users. The Fire devices that the company will offer to its customers will also let them streaming videos from rival streaming medias such as Netflix, Inc. and Hulu. The online shopping service is making it video streaming service available in other manufacturers devices as well. For example: an Apple user will be able to streaming directly from their iPhone or iPad while an android user will also be able to do so.

The announcement has come from Amazon weeks after Netflix launched its services in Japan. The streaming media giant had made the announcement of its expansion in the Asian Market earlier this year in February. It has over 65 million subscribers in over 50 countries and has aims of being present in 200 countries by the end of 2016. In the coming month, the company has plans of launching its service Italy, Spain and Portugal.

In order to tackle Netflix, Inc. market, the e-commerce giant needs to up its game and expand further to more countries. The President of Amazon Japan, Jasper Cheung stated that they have significantly invested globally especially in the United States and they plan on doing the same for Japan, as the company will be providing its users in Japan with local as well as high quality content. He further added, that Amazon has been offering DVDs and movies in the country for over 15 years now, so they know exactly what the customers wants when it comes to entertainment and with no additional charges they will be providing that to their customers.
