Who among us is not impressed by the features and amazing benefits of online shopping and especially from Amazon - The world’s largest online retailer. So let us know about its journey till now.  

Amazon India launched its operations in June 2013 and it soon launched its website Amazon.com which is offering customers a wide variety of choices in clothes for men, women, and kids, groceries, household items, books and novels, movies, and almost everything. 

On the first day of its operations, Amazon received more than 10,000 orders.  Amazon was founded by Jeff Bezos on July 05, 1994. It explored other countries for increasing its sales and growth of the company. 

So, instead of limiting its operations to the United States, it soon launched its operations in other countries with huge markets like China and India. Although China did not turn out to be that much fruitful for it, India did. Amazon launched its operations in India in 2013.

In a very short time period, Amazon India has acquired a great position in the Indian E-Commerce space and has actually become a major shopping giant. Its commercial tagline Apni Dukan is proving out to be fruitful for the Amazon in India. 

Besides delivering production commodities to a large group of customers it is also catering its customers with unique services like streaming videos music e-books and so on through Amazon Prime. In 2016 Amazon acquired a payments company named advantage payments Private Limited and is recently in talks with the Big Basket to acquire it. 

Amazon India is facing cut-throat competition from E-Commerce companies like Flipkart and Snapdeal but it is still emerging out as the top leaders among them. Majorly competing with Flipkart Amazon is aggressively trying to grab a larger market share in India.
