Aluminum Coil- What You Should Know About It

by Marcus North Seo Executive
Aluminum is actually the third most abundant element that is present in crust of earth. It is never found in form in pure metallic form, and is generally found in combined form with any other element or elements. The major source of this metal is bauxite ore, which is combination of hydrated aluminum oxides, which usually contains oxide of iron and silicon.

This metal is undoubtedly one of the most used metals in present times, it used in myriad of industries, which range from constructions and commercial, and from manufacturing to making appliances and household products. However, the resources for this metal have become very limited. There are different suppliers of this metal present in the market. This highly useful metal, aluminum is actually extracted from the earth in soli form. After extraction, it is passed through a number of different mechanical processes that are basically designed to give this metal its desired shape. Making coils of aluminum is demand of the manufacturing and several other industries which later give the coils desired shape for designing different products.

This metal is usually supplied in form of sheets or coils. Aluminum coil is extremely high in density and has an equivalent weight to steel. Moreover, it is excellent conductor of heat and electricity that increases its demand in industrial and manufacturing purposes. There are different varieties of aluminum coils that include 1050 aluminum coil, 1100 aluminum coil and others. There are different suppliers for coil and sheets; however, not from each of them you can expect the same quality and reliability at reasonable prices.

Aluminum coils are actually used for a wide range of applications, from construction of heavy duty trucks to cladding and insulation for buildings in construction industries. These coils are available in several varieties of alloy. Stock coils as well as strip thickness is generally available from 0.005 inch to .375 inch.  Coils are either supplied in standard form mill finish or there are painted coils. Usually, the common width of aluminums coils are 1000mm, 1250 and 1500mm. Different industries have different requirements of aluminum coils, therefore, different width and types of coils are manufactured and supplied.
