After each casting process, the mold is broken but with the process  called the gravity die casting, the die is also manufactured from the metals and that can be used a number of times. This die is much more expensive to create than a use-one-time mould.

They make use of the aluminum casting service in China. This is a technique where semi permanent moulds are used and where there is the plaster of fireclay which can be further used for a number of castings. With that die casting, the best materials for die making are steel, iron, and the different alloys of iron.  The other materials are used for making the dies and these also include the graphite, the copper and the aluminum. Metal dies are smooth and they have a clean surface too with a very high dimensional accuracy. The castings require very little machining or finishing treatment.

The life of the metal dies depends on the number of the castings it produces. These furthermore depend on factors like the temperature at which the material is poured, the casting method used and the metal shock resistance of the die material.

The different details worth considering are patterns using which the die is made. The risers and the pouring gate system are important. The die should have the channels at the various joints and holes to allow the air to escape. The die must be constructed very well so that there is no shrinkage. When there is shrinkage, it can be difficult to form the casting. The cores are generally made of alloys or from steel and these are sometimes compressed shell cores and sands that are used.

The die is given an internal coating of clay, chalk or bone ash with water glass that will act as a strong binder. This mixture is applied to the die through the processes of immersion, brushing or spraying in this aluminum casting service.

The molten metal is poured from the top. The die is so designed that the metal flows quickly and turbulently into every part of the die. The die is often heated so that there is premature solidification and the metals have a very high melting point. The die has to be cooled artificially after each casting.

In China, the methods of slush casting are used along with hollow castings. The molten metal is poured into the die and the solid shell is formed. This has sufficient thickness while the rest of the liquid is poured out. The die castings are cheaper than the sand castings and the tooling is more expensive. There are an optimum number of castings that are required for the process to be effective. There are microprocessors available that help in steady castings. You can obtain the shot rod positions, the metal velocity and also the hydraulic pressure and all other important data through the machines.
