• Bolt holes: In determining the size of a bolt, this is a key component. It also indicates the capacity to hold a particular pressure. While determining the size and pressure handling capacity, keep in mind three factors, i.e. the actual size of the particular bolt hole, pitch circle diameter, the total amount of bolt holes.

• Thickness: The thicker the flanges are, they can withstand higher pressure. So, by determining the thickness, it also can be evaluated how much pressure a flange can withstand.

• Pressure Class: There are different pressure class from low pressure to high-pressure tolerance. Pressure class indicates the minimum amount of pressure a flang can withstand.
