The sport of mountain climbing is commonly described as mountaineering. Hiking on the mountain peaks is also known as mountaineering. It can be categorized into three forms, viz., snow crafting, rock crafting and skiing. The first one is done over the snow, the second one on the rocks and the last one on ice. Stok Kangri:


Stok kangri is a beautiful place for making mountaineering tours in Ladakh. Stok kangri is a high peak in Leh and attracts several tourists to this place. The deserted surroundings offer the trekkers to enjoy a complete peace of mind. The peaks take about 4-5 days for climbing. You can climb there anytime between the months of June to September.

Matho West:

This peak is closer to Leh. It is known as Matho Kangri. The trekking starts from Martselang, which is near the Hemis monastery. The trek ends at Stok village after the mountaineers reach the summit. If you want to visit the place, go during the months of July to September.

Kang Yatse:

The Kangyatse is a famous location in Ladakh for mountaineering. It is located in the ends of the Markha valley in the Himalayas. This mountain has two summits, viz., the lower and the higher. While mountaineering in Ladakh one can witness the limitless beauty of the place. The best time to visit this place is between June and September.
