All you need to know about the Mitsubishi RVR

The Mitsubishi RVR is a car first introduced in 1991 by the Japanese automaker Mitsubishi with three generations. The first generation was produced from 1991 to 1999 and from 1997 to 2002, the second generation was released. All models from 1991 to 2002 were available in four-door compact Multi-Purpose Vehicles (MPV). The production was stopped in 2002 and then reintroduced again in 2010 as the third generation and a five-door subcompact crossover SUV. It is referred to as the Mitsubishi ASX in other international markets.

Interior

The RVR interior is spacious and comfortable with five seating capacities and still enough headroom and legroom. The dash offers two round controls, a 7-inch widescreen display, a Mitsubishi Multi-communication System (MMCS), leather-wrapped gear knob and a leather-covered steering wheel with audio controls, tilt steering wheel, hands–free communication functionality, a rearview camera, passenger seat glove compartment, storage space close to the instrument panel, console box within the front seats, and a Rockford Fosgate audio system which includes on other models. It also features an underfloor storage area for dirty or wet items and 419 liters boot space as well as folding rear seats to create more cargo space.

Exterior and Safety Features

The RVR exterior highlights a standard front trapezoidal grille, angled super-wide headlights that give a wide and ultra-bright beam, LED brake lights, rear bumper with marker lamps, robust front fenders, and 17-inch aluminum wheels. The RVR 2010 JDM version was available in two trims, the G trim which offered more features and M trim levels. 

The RVR comes with standard features including the Emergency Stop Signal system (ESS) that blinks hazard lights to the oncoming drivers in case of a sudden stop, SRS knee airbags for the driver, side airbags, curtain airbags, and adjustable force-limiter seat belts.


Specifications


The RVR comes with a 1.8L 4B10 MIVEC 16-valve DOHC straight 4 petrol engine producing power 105 KW (141 HP) at 6000 rpm and the 1.8L 4J10 MIVEC 16-valve SOHC straight 4 petrol engine producing power 102 KW (137 HP) at 6000 rpm. The engines were fitted with a 5-speed / 6-speed transmission or an optional CVT with an average fuel economy of 15.2 km/l. Other international markets offer more engine variants with 2WD or AWD drivetrains. The RVR is featured with a MacPherson strut front suspension, a multi-link rear suspension at the rear, and a 267 cm wheelbase which offer the car a comfortable cabin and stability. 


Generally


The Mitsubishi RVR is a great family car offering reliability, space, comfortability, fuel efficiency, and good performance.
