Coir pith blocks are largely used in the agricultural fields and floriculture nurseries for the purpose of landscaping, as these are a good soil conditioner and the ideal substitute for soil. The product has emerged highly useful as it can effectively retain water and you do not need to water on daily basis. Coir pith blocks are specifically designed for meeting the high demands arising from commercial greenhouses and nurseries.

Coir has been derived from coconuts. Coir is what that makes the fiber-laden husk of the interior shell of a coconut. It is vastly used for various products that may include ropes, rugs, brushes, and also upholstery stuffing. It is also used for manufacturing scratchy doormats, fibrous liners seen in hanging baskets. Coir offers several qualities including resistance from heat. It is immensely useful for outdoor products. Of late, coir has become very popular as potting mix agent.

There are several names for coir and you can get it in the market by the name of coir peat, coir pith, coir fiber pith, coir dust etc. Coir is also largely available in the market in the form of the compressed block, as it can be easily transported and effectively bulked up. It is also often compressed into the form of bricks or blocks and they need to be adequately soaked before use.

Coir can be defined as an excellent substitute for the cypress mulch. Coir is a renewable resource and its harvesting does not pose any threat to the environment. It does not cause any damage to the environment. Coir does not contain any disease organisms which can be easily transmitted to the plants and cause damage. The biggest quality of coir is that is quite light in weight. It is abundantly available in lightweight blocks and they can easily expand when they are exposed to the water.

These days the demand for coir has increased vastly and India has emerged as a big exporter of coir in the Gulf countries. Coir pith is largely exported in the shape of blocks of 5kg which will be broken and made into the soil. Sri Lanka is giving stiff competition to India when it comes to exporting coir to various countries all over the globe. However, India has many advantages over Sri Lanka. The coir produced in India does not have much salt content and therefore it requires less wash before using them.

Therefore, we can conclude here that the coir pith block supplier in India enjoy good demand of the product and they leave no stone unturned to meet the demand on a timely basis.
