All that there is to know about Samsung’s Galaxy S8
Flagship may be released ahead of
the usual launch at Mobile World Congress

Samsung is topping all latest technology news platforms across
the world these days for its ‘explosive’ Galaxy Note 7. However, it is
important to note that the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are performing consistently
despite the news and information that has put the Korean giant in a difficult
spot brand image wise. Amidst all of this, there are rumours that Samsung may
be releasing its next flagship, the Galaxy S8, earlier than usual, to make up
for the lost brand value. A popular website has even listed specs and features
that are rumored for Galaxy S8 along with the possible retail price. If these
rumors are to be believed, Samsung will be going for a solid redesign with new
features for Galaxy S8.
As per these speculations, this new
flagship will have a lot of latest technology features like a new processor
capable of clocking 4GHz. This is being called Samsung Exynos 8895 and is
touted to be at least 30 per cent better in performance as compared to the
Exynos 8890 of the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. It is also being said that this
new Galaxy model will have a curved screen and Samsung will completely shut
down its flat screen phones. Could this be the official word in favour of
curved screen smartness that has been around for a while but no major
manufacturer has consolidated its flagship line without flat screen phones? We
will have to wait and see. Another outcome from the rumor mills is that
renowned designer Steel Drake is behind the next flagship for Samsung. It is
being said that this will not have a physical home button, decreasing the
screen to body proportion than any other phone designed before.
Industry sources have quoted KB
Investment & Securities as stating that Samsung may prepone the launch of
this flagship by months. The manufacturer is known to release flagships only at
the Mobile World Congress that is held every year in February in Barcelona.
Although it would be outside of the norm for Samsung to ditch that road and
release a flagship earlier, but industry experts are seeing this as a tactical
decision that might be beneficial in the long run. Sources off the web have
estimated that the Galaxy S8 will definitely cross the $800 benchmark making it
one of the most expensive smartphones of its times. However, as always, Samsung
is also expected to have a big lineup of affordable options along with this
release.
