Air pollution caused because of transportation sources can be proved very hazardous to health. You need an air purifier to get rid of it.

The effects of air pollution due to transportation sources are devastating. The air pollutants that are expelled by the mobile sources are dangerous in many ways. They put an effect not only on the personal health but also on the planet as a whole in form of ozone depletion. The major air pollutants that are generated mostly by vehicles are: Nitrous Oxide, Ozone, Carbon Monoxide, Hydrocarbons, and Carbon dioxide. These pollutants affect many aspects of human health but are mainly damaging to the respiratory system. A recent research was conducted with some of these chemicals, which revealed the following facts:

Nitrous oxide compounds contribute to problems such as the creation of ozone and smog. Health effects related to the inhalation of Nitrous Oxide include irritation of the respiratory tract, including chronic conditions such as asthma and chronic bronchitis. They are a result of high burning fuel processes, such as engine combustion. They also act as greenhouse gas in upper layers of the atmosphere, thus contributing to the depletion of the ozone layer.

Ozone is a major day time outdoor air pollutant. Ozone irritates eyes, mucus membranes, and the lungs. Upon inhalation it damages cell membranes in the respiratory tract. Ozone is not a typical pollutant stemming directly from the pollution of mobile sources. However, it can be a significant factor in the upper atmosphere. Ozone is only produced from the emissions of other pollutants, such as hydrocarbons or nitrous oxides.

Carbon monoxide is formed in a combustion setting when fuel is not burned completely, which is also called incomplete combustion. The main sources of carbon monoxide in the global atmosphere are vehicles, contributing 95% of total carbon monoxide concentrations in cities. Carbon monoxide reduces respiration rates within the body’s organs and tissues as it irreversibly binds with the blood’s haemoglobin. At low concentrations carbon monoxide can cause fatigue or headaches. However, it is also poisonous and fatal at higher concentrations.

There are some other pollutants as well that gets generated due to the combustion of fuels that are used in the vehicles. These produce global toxicity. The toxins which get absorbed by the air get merged into the air that reaches our homes in some way or the other. This is how the polluted air that is a resultant of the transportation sources, affects our lives. To get rid out of this, we need to have an air purifier installed. Air purifiers are air filtration system, which help purify your indoor air and not only makes it breathable but also remove pollutants up to the level of 0.1 microns.
