AIPMT 2016 : A Test of Patience

by Chandan Singh Blogger
The Supreme Court has directed Central Board of Secondary Education to conduct the AIPMT 2016 which many students feel is a sheer waste of time. Students who toiled hard day and night in order to clear the examination will have to retake the test which in itself is a big question.

It’s very common for all of us, if we practically acknowledge it, that we practice hard to just pout in the examination and forget that afterwards but due to the Re-examination, they will have to restart again to reach their dream. Hearing of the re-exam, an aspirant complained that already the first paper was hard and we just about manage to pass the examination, but the judgment has overseen our aspirations.

According to them, the Court should have identified those 700 students accused of rigging the examination and should have cancelled their paper instead of ordering 6.3 lakh students to retake the test.

Willingly or unwillingly the students will have to undergo through the nerve wrecking practice sessions. Once again the ghosts of Molecular Theory and Double-slit Experiment will start hovering in their dreams. Once again the students will be forced to burn the midnight oil. The tenderness of the study rooms will soon bloom to life. The Holidays will end midway and students will have to return.

According a Source in CBSE, the Board might not ask for fresh application forms but will be issuing fresh Admit cards. CBSE will soon be coming out with the directives regarding the AIPMT 2016 . Earlier CBSE was set to Release the AIPMT 2015 Exam Results on 5th June but Supreme Court First stayed the result and then scrapped it citing huge irregularities in the Pre-Medical Examination at some Centers in Haryana as the cause of it. Around 700 Students have been identified by Haryana police who is probing the case out of them 44 have been arrested. The root of the conundrum has stretched to various other States.

The Supreme Court said in its statement that the exam remains vitiated even one student was found cheating and they want to assure that the sanctity of the examination does not get hampered. To save the purity of the exam, it becomes necessary to re-conduct the examination.

The Apex Court also directed CBSE to maintain cognizance of these types of problems because Cheating and leak gate have become frequent. To recall, IIT Question papers were leaked at some centers in the year 2012 and CBSE had to change the questions at the last moment.

Meanwhile, Counseling at some private Medical colleges have started adding to the confusion of the AIPMT 2015 aspirant who believe that Supreme Court should have also included the dates and other details of the Counseling session as well in its judgment. Some believe that Ministry of Health should intervene and stop the counseling of the Private Medical Colleges which are only adding to the confusion. Ideally the Court should have ordered the Private Medical Colleges to pause their Counseling Process in order to bring equality in the admission framework.

The conundrum is large and needs to be solved because the future of around 6.3 lakh students is at stake. We only hope that CBSE issues Notification regarding the AIPMT in order to clarify the students who are much tensed at this point of time.
