Aeron Chair – Conforms to Your Shape

by Shweta Arora Content Writer
When it comes to office chairs, only a few products are able to stand the test of time and survive the trends due to their ergonomics, classic styling, and the comfort they provide. The Aeron chair is a good example of this. Despite being remastered and improved to suit the needs of a modern worker, it is able to retain its iconic form with help from Don Chadwick, the original co-designer. This way, the Aeron remains a mainstay in the offices of discerning workers looking for comfortable and stylish seating that is supported by the latest research and advancements in technology, manufacturing, and materials.

The Aeron office chair first came out in 1994 and it easily became a favourite among individuals whose job requires them to sit for long hours in the office. It is known to provide support no matter how you position yourself in the chair, while ensuring proper posture. Manufacturers continued to enhance its health-positive design by incorporating 20 years’ worth of ergonomic and technological improvements. Moreover, the chair’s range of cross-performance capabilities has been expanded.

The updated design of the Aeron chair now features a highly refined tilt mechanism, the 8X Pellicle suspension, and the adjustable PostureFit SL. With a smarter performance, it should be able to help you work smarter. Among its innovative features and components is the Pellicle, an elastomeric suspension that eliminates pressure points that restrict circulation. It helped expand the boundaries of the design for the material, resulting in the 8Z Pellicle, which supports eight different zones. So, no matter how you sit, the Aeron should be able to provide ergonomic support and keep you comfortable.

Foam and fabric have been eliminated from the design of the current Aeron office chair to solve the issue of heat and humidity build-up as the result of prolonged sitting. Pellicle allows the backrest and seat to maintain comfortable and even temperatures. PostureFit SL is another feature that adds to your comfort while sitting, as individual pads support your spine’s lumbar region and stabilise the sacrum, mimicking a healthy standing position. The tilt function makes the chair move with your body, so it naturally and intuitively shifts when you change from one reclining posture to another. The updated slimmer tilt mechanism ensures seamless movement.
