Advice for Indian MBBS Students to Study MBBS in China

by Becky Zhang China MBBS Educational Institution (CMEI)

China MBBS Educational Institution (CMEI) as the lead educational agency in China has ramped up efforts recently to educate Indian students preparing to study MBBS in China and about the dangers of knowingly or unknowingly getting caught up in illegal agencies and fake agents activities.

The CMEI websites lists the following information to help Indian students avoid recruitment by fake agents in India:

How do fake educational agents in India routinely interact with students for admissions in MBBS in China?

These kind of fake educational agents normally say they work for Medical Universities when developing relationships with students and their parents. They develop initial relationships with students under seemingly innocent pretexts such as cheap university fees, job or internship opportunities, Indian food available very easily, less application fees and scholarships.

As relationships are developed, the student might be asked to pay extra money for medical check-up in India and visa charges in exchange for admission letters, but these demands grow over time.

These fake agents might suggest that students upon completion of their MBBS education in China can apply for Indian government medical jobs (particularly for MCI Screening Test pass-out).

What can Indian students do to protect themselves from such fake educational agents while taking admissions for studying MBBS in China?

Be skeptical of "money-for-nothing" offers and other opportunities that seem too good to be true and be cautious of being offered free favors, especially those involving free laptops or free electronic goods and claiming to be cheapest Medical University in China.

Minimize personal information you reveal about yourself, especially through social media.

Try to avoid such free offers or any kind of less fees packages to study MBBS in China. This is a medical degree education and there is no short-cut for such education either in India or in China.

Ask for each and every bifurcation of the money you pay to the educational agents in India, other than the Medical University fees, which should be paid directly to the University in China.

Above all, keep checking about the agency and the agent online and check how many students have been already studying in China through them. Indian students have an advantage of checking the reputation of the agency which recruits them to study MBBS in China by social media and internet, says Mr. Zhang, President, China MBBS Educational Institution (CMEI)

Also check the Medical University, if it is recognized by Medical Council of India (MCI) and since how many years is this recognition.

What the CMEI fails to mention is the use of numerous other methods of giving admission to study MBBS in China by these kind of fake educational agents in India including the use of "honey traps" (using some employees who keep calling and pressurize the parents that the MBBS seats are limited). Then ask for more money for visa forms and give 100% guaranteed scholarships claims.

This is the reason, CMEI has been helping the aspiring students to get direct admission without any agents in India.
