by Jeniffer Leio Excutive

On June 19, 2018, Adobe announced several updates as well as integrations across its cloud-based applications suite to concert and process PDF documents. Moreover, Adobe Scan, which is a doc scanning application available to Android and iOS users for free, is slated to see some changes due to ML technology.

Adobe Microsoft Support

Adobe Sign, a digital signature subscription formerly known as EchoSign, has also been strongly integrated with ERP Microsoft Dynamics 365 and allows access to LinkedIn client data, along with a self-service mechanism for recording GDPR applications. Also, in a few days, both Acrobat DC for teams and Acrobat DC for enterprise users who have a valid subscription to Microsoft Office 365 will be able to produce PDFs via the ribbon menu in the online versions of the following Microsoft Office 365 applications:

  • MS Word
  • MS Excel
  • MS PowerPoint
  • MS OneDrive

ADOBE SCAN

Prior to the announcement by Adobe, the Adobe Scan app only had the capability to automatically discover borders, clarify content, and apply optical character recognition (OCR) to make the document editable. The new upgrade consists of a new single-touch button which stores business card details to a contact record.

After identifying a business card, the app reveals a Save Contact button. If you press the button, it proceeds to automatically add the name, organization, contact number, email address, and picture to the contact list. If the user has subscribed to Adobe Document Cloud, then a copy of the contact is stored in the Adobe’s cloud storage locker.

Once Adobe Scan recognizes a business card, it presents a Save Contact button. Hitting the button adds the person’s details such as complete name, company name, phone number, email address, and image to the contacts, and if you’re an Adobe Document Cloud subscriber, it will save a copy in your cloud storage locker.

INTEGRATION WITH MICROSOFT OFFICE 365

In the month of September last year, tech giant Microsoft collaborated with Adobe to produce Adobe Sign, to receive payments and signatures securely with a digital signature solution for the users. Developing on this Microsoft-Adobe partnership, both Adobe sign, as well as Adobe PDF, are getting brand-new integrations with Microsoft’s cloud-based productivity suite as well as Microsoft Dynamics.

Chiefly, Microsoft Dynamics users will now to be able to extract customer information via LinkedIn Sales Navigator. They will also be capable of embedding the Adobe Document Cloud solution into Microsoft Dynamics workflows. Apart from this, fedRAMP or Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program has authorized AdobeSign. FedRAMP is an American assessment and authorization management program. It is essential for all the federal agencies of USA to adhere to it. Moreover, it also performs the function of privacy admin which involves the GDPR tool mentioned previously.

Speaking of Microsoft Office’s latest productivity suite, changes have been made to the ribbon of specific web applications. Specific shortcuts have been added to the ribbon of applications such as Word, Excel, as well as PowerPoint. It enables the user to convert Office documents into PDF formats. It also includes a security feature, i.e., password protection.

Tools for archiving, converting, and distributing Adobe PDF have also been released on Microsoft OneDrive and SharePoint platforms.
