Accuracy in what we write

by Lola R. Consultant
A short comment on accuracies or rather inaccuracies in things we write on the internet.
In the years I have been "cruising" the internet, I have noticed that grammar and spelling of the English language has gone by the wayside. People are leaving out words, mis-spelling words, adding unnecessary words where there is no need, thus making it very hard for the reader to understand what is said or they have to "re-write" what is being said to make sense of it.  Perhaps we should read and re-read what we write before we hit the "submit, ok, post" or whatever button to make sure that what we write makes sense.  I know people who write English as a second language may not get it right but English speakers, those who live in English speaking countries should at least be able to get their grammar and spelling correct. In particular people who write programs and applications for others to read, use and work with, case in point, the instructions on what we can and cannot do here in writing articles, tell us that "no balant advertisements!" are allowed, should be "no blatant advertisments!" Also instruction number three "...aimed interest potential customers...".  Instructions, information or simply letters written this way will get me hitting the cancel or delete button very quickly and forgetting about the site/person/item to which it refers.
