Accounts Receivable Outsourcing

by David Miller Accountant Consultant

Accounts Receivable factoring is a way for a small business to sell its bills and other Accounts Receivable to a company that helps businesses get loans. The financing company buys these invoices at a discount, gives the business the cash, and then gets the cash from the customer at the face value of the invoice when the invoice is due. The business can either collect the cash on its own or hire a company that specializes in cash collection services to do it.

First, what could be called a picture capture is done by the Outsourcing company. This means that when a company gets a buy order, it uses a lot of different ways to record it and then index it based on fields like the customer's name, number, invoice number, and date. This will make sure that all of the information about a customer is saved digitally and can be accessed when needed.

The next step is to scan the "proof of delivery," or "POD." Here, the signature of the customer on the paper is checked. This shows that the things were accepted and received. The next step is to make a statement of the payment. Once this is done, the company starts making plans to get the money when it's due. All Outsourcing companies try to keep good relationships with their clients and get paid as soon as possible.

In fact, some companies also make custom solutions to apply both inbound and outbound treatment plans to manage company Accounts Receivable. These solutions are based on the company's strategy for building relationships with customers.

The company then sends polite letters or makes phone calls to the customer and keeps a record of this. If payments aren't made after enough warnings, the company also makes statistical reports that explain why payments haven't been made. It also keeps track of problems like people not paying because of broken goods, unmet services, or different prices.
