Accessible Travel Tips

by Kosher River Cruise Kosher Tour Operator
"Disabled travel" or "accessible travel" is slowly gaining popularity. Kosher cruises is an all-inclusive river cruise that believes that nothing should stop you from having fun, even if you have special needs and require assistance.

Here are some things that will help make your trip with us even more enjoyable.

Make Arrangements Beforehand

Inform the cruise line about what measures are needed to take to make your journey as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. We'll tweak our tour arrangements for you such as providing wheelchair assistance or having extra staff on standby. Also, we will find accommodation that best suits you and is most convenient for you and your companions.

Bring Spare Parts for Your Devices

You'll never know if you may need them. Or if there are pharmacies or a medical supplier with your specific needs during the excursion. Always have them somewhere accessible in the worst case scenario of an emergency. Keep them in your carry-on bag.  Also, keep your medical insurance up to date.

Give Yourself a Time Allowance

Arrive at your destinations early, such as when you check-in on a flight or dock the boat. Give yourself plenty of time to maneuver your way through the situation.

Stay in the Most Accessible Parts of Town

This will require plenty of research if you want to do some more traveling after the cruise itself is over, but the rule of thumb is to stay within the city center. Look for accessible hotels that are PWD friendly; they should have amenities such as wheelchair ramps, elevators, and medical assistance. It would also be a good idea to check on what kind of terrain you have to walk/roll on. Avoid places such as cobblestone or grassy fields. And find accommodations with free shuttle service, so it's easier to get around.

Research on Service Animal-friendly Places

Not all locations will allow service dogs into their establishments. So make sure that they're wearing the service uniforms, badges, and you carry their paperwork around with you. As long as you can provide them verification with this information, your service animal will be allowed to enter the area.

Enjoy Your Trip!

Traveling with a disability shouldn't be seen as an inconvenience. It may be challenging sometimes, but they shouldn't stop you from having the time of your life. You deserve to have just as much fun on KRC as everyone else on the boat. If you follow our tips, then it should make your journey much easier.
