Every person wants to have the world in his feet more or less. And I'm not talking about conquering the world, nor of enslaving people from different nations. This is a metaphor and I'm about to explain it in the following lines.

I'm sure that many of you misinterpreted the title of this post and thought of something amazingly different. Well, I'm not going to talk about war, nor anything somehow connected with philosophy. I'm going to talk about carpets, and how you can use them to change the interior of your house. How can carpets help you improve your home's design?

"A whole world in your feet" means that you can lay carpets from different parts of the world in the rooms in your house. Not only this, but you can arrange the rooms according to the rugs' origin. Different countries have different culture, customs and soft floorings. Moreover, floor coverings are used
in a different way around the world. So, let me give you a few examples of how to make your home more interesting.

Turkish Carpets

Anatolian Kilim

Turkish carpets or Anatolian kilims are popular all over the world. They are famous for their unique patterns, which represent different scenes of Turkish history and the circle of life. They are rich in colours and usually each rug is unique. Of course, one can find cheap duplicates of Anatolian kilims, but their quality of fabrics is not the same. Anyway, when you install a Turkish carpet, you can arrange everything in the room in Turkish style. This means that you have to use bright colours for the walls and a lot of golden and other glamorous motives on the furnishings. It is very important not to over-furbish the room, as it might start looking too tawdry. You might also put small rugs on the walls instead of paintings, and cover any soft furniture with carpets, too.

Bulgarian Carpets

Bugarian Tcherga

The traditional Bulgarian carpets are a little more different than other types of carpets most of them are long and narrow, as for a hallway. They are very colourful, though, and if you choose to use such, the room where you will put them will look amazing. These floorings are called tcherga and are best to be bought by a Bulgarian manufacturer. A room with tcherga on the floor can be decorated with traditional Bulgarian items. If you want you can even furnish the room with old Bulgarian furniture.

Italian Carpets

Italian Carpet

Italians were merchants in the past and have brought most of their stuff from different countries. They have carpets, but all of them look like floorings from other countries. It doesn't matter, though, because installing an Italian rug is a wonderful reason to furbish a room in Italian style. Just imagine, today you want to wake up with an espresso or a cappuccino in the morning, so why not sip it in an Italian-like environment?!

Japanese Carpets

Japanese Carpet

Most traditional Japanese carpets are with floral motives and in bright fresh colours. They are perfect and add lots of positiveness to every home. I'm not sure that you'll want to furnish a whole room the Japanese way, though, because I think in big pieces of furniture were not used in ancient Japan. If I judge by what I've seen about Japanese culture on TV, they didn't use much furniture in the past. It would be interesting to have a room with only one carpet on the ground, though. It would be the perfect place for relaxation.

So, folks, if you want the world in your feet, you know how you can put it there. Just remember that you have to maintain your soft floorings regularly. Vacuum and clean them every week, and use professional carpet cleaning services at least twice a year.
