Gandhidham, situated in the Kutch District of Gujarat is the economic capital of the state. Originally the place was created in 1947 to provide shelter to the refugees during the partition of India. Mahatma Gandhi advised the Maharaja of the Gujarat to do so. Thereafter the town adopted its name from Mahatma. Gandhidham is one of the developing and fastest growing cities of the state. It is well-planned and it houses one of the oldest and important port of the country.

It is one of the booming tourist places of the region. It is the second place of India which possess the remains of Gandhiji, the Gandhi Samadhi here is one of the major things which attracts people from all over the country. The city is divided into sectors and the Jain temples and structures add to the importance of the place. Purneshwar temple which is built between 9th and 10th-century is known for its ancient images and sculptures. . The architectural style of the past is about to surprise you. Modhera will display the Indo-western Solanki style of architecture is a must place to visit in Gandhidham. The temple is often known as Sun Temple is mainly dedicated to Sun God, Surya. The serene ambience is quite enchanting. Shri Chandra Prabh Labdhi Dham Teerth which is dedicated to Jain God Shri Chandra Prabhuji Bhagvan is a sacred site and every year a good population of Jain visit the place.
