A standstone statue from the (10th century) was returned to Cambodia by the Denvar Art Museum
The statue is from the 10th century and it is the sculpture of the Hindu God Rama which was stolen during one of the civil wars. The oil paintings for sale were returned by one of the American museums to Cambodia.
The original artwork for sale was stolen in the 1970’s near the Angkor Wat Complex which was very close to the Koh Ker temple. It is a 62 inch statue (original paintings for sale) and it was returned in the place Phnom Penn during an art ceremony.
It is a complete statue, however the statue was damaged or broken by someone that the torso only was found. The head, arms and feet are still missing. The original art for sale was possessed by the museum said the government of Cambodia.
The official of Cambodia,YimNolson was absolutely glad and happy at the return of thismagnificentoil painting for salestatue. The other parts of the statue are still missing and there is no clue about the missing parts of the statue.
There is a humble request from the government of Cambodia to all the art collectors and all the international museums to look for the parts or return the head of theoil paintings for sale statue.
There were several researches before the torsooriginal oil paintings statue was discovered and the return was arranged by the government.
The statue has a very long history with a
Hindu-Buddhist empire in the background. The Empire Khmer was once visited by
Cambodia. This dynasty had invested a lot of money in recreating in the form of
art the famous cities and temples which includes the complex of Angkor Wat.
However the Cambodia’s art formsoriginal oil paintings were looted at several times during various
civil wars and the colonial intrusion of France. The art works were looted and
sold over to other dynasties.
But decades of French colonialism and civil war
saw vast swathes of Cambodia's architectural and religious heritage lootedoriginal oil paintings for sale
artworks and sold overseas.
These illegal lootings were eventually met and after several arguments and appeals few of the buy original artartworks were returned to Cambodia.
In the year 2015, the statues of the Hindu god
named Hanuman (who looks like a monkey) which was also looted several decades
ago from the same temple was also returned to Cambodia by Cleaveland Museum of
Art.
In the year 2013, there were two different buy paintingsstatues returned to Cambodia. The statues were
a part of the Kneeling Attendants of the Kymer era which belonged to the 10th
century.
A French Museum in the
month of January, 2016, returned a significant part of the art to buystatue to
Cambodia. This part was stolen in 1886.
