A Retailer Showcases Google Pixel 7 Pro

by APSense News Release Admin

The Google Pixel 7 Pro has been officially shown off but as the expected mid-October launch date approaches, a new video showcases its brief unboxing. A retailer in Bangladesh named Gadgetfull BD recently posted a 44-second video to Facebook that shows what appears to be Google Pixel 7 Pro in retail packaging. This brief leak shows the hardware and hints at what might be in the box.

What Did the Video Reveal?

The video leaked by Bangladeshi retailer is something Pixel lovers might want to check out. Overall, the brief video doesn’t particularly tell us anything more about the upcoming device that isn’t already known. However, it is still worth exploring. Here’s what the video revealed.

Extra Port in the Rear Camera

You can clearly see in the video that the smartphone shown is indeed Pixel 7 Pro and not the basic Pixel 7. You can easily spot the difference by looking at the camera region. The basic model has only two cameras. The “Pro” version on the other hand, has an extra port dedicated to the periscopic optical zoom camera. When you take a look at the camera region sideways, the extra port looks like an exclamation mark.

 “G” Logo on the Back

The Pixel 7 Pro shown in this video is the same black device that has been seen in the several past leaks. However, in this particular footage, the device features the actual logo of Google and not a prototype indicator. The “G” logo on the back of the device suggests that it is not just a prototype featuring a logo of the partner manufacturer that distributes test devices.

“Welcome to your Pixel” Splash Screen

The retailer in the video turns on the device to prove that it is indeed a functional product. You can clearly see the device booting up and showing the traditional Google loading screen leading up to the initial configuration menu which says “Welcome to your Pixel”. The clip ends there so you cannot glance at the Android 13 software.

Difference in Curved Edges

While the direct comparison to another device is not yet possible, the brief showcase of the phone’s design in this video seems to support the theory that Google is shifting away from the curved edges of Pixel 6 Pro. The way the light reflects off of the sides of Pixel 7 Pro in the leaked video doesn’t appear to be as distorted as it does on Pixel 6 Pro.

Packaging and Accessories

When it comes to the packaging, the unboxing experience appears to be basically the same as the Pixel 6 series. The design of the box is identical to previous phones. Inside, there is a USB-C to USB-C cable and a Quick Switch Adapter. There is no sign of a charging brick. It can be seen in the video that Google is still using paper to cover up the display for sustainability purposes.

This isn’t the first Google Pixel 7 Pro leak. In recent weeks, prototypes have appeared on Facebook Marketplace and eBay. Between them and the leak of Pixel Watch, it appears Google’s pre-launch security is not that great, or its marketers are simply using leaks as a way to create hype. No matter the explanation, the fact that this time the Google Pixel 7 Pro is shown in retail packaging indicates that the rumors about its imminent launch are true.
