Dear Prospective students,

As Chancellor of the Avalon’s University School of Medicine, I extend you a hearty welcome on behalf of the entire Avalon’s Faculty & Staff.

The medical profession has been highly revered in human society since time immemorial for its role in healing people. Despite a growing global demand for doctors at all levels, educational opportunities continue to be limited by the low ratio of applicants to positions available at medical schools. As a result, often a large pool of students is compelled to choose alternate careers. It is here that medical schools in other countries offer a chance to fulfill your aspiration to be part of the medical profession.

At Avalon University School of Medicine, which is run by a group of physicians, our mission is to educate students to become highly qualified medical professionals equally proficient at both the art and skill of human healing. We want you to be successful in medicine; however you define that yourself; be it in rural health care, more specialized areas of medicine or at the cutting-edge areas of research in medical knowledge; all of which requires clear understanding of the fundamental disciplines underlying modern medicine as well as command of the clinical knowledge. Only you can decide what’s right for you; whatever you may choose, our teaching methods will help you develop into a well-trained, scientifically informed, and conscientious physician prepared for the changing conditions of medical practice and continuing self-education in today’s world.

The students at Avalon share the classroom with talented and diverse individuals from every part of the globe in a collegial and supportive learning environment. Our course curricula, which draws from the best U.S. medical schools, is designed and regularly updated to meet the licensing requirements in the United States and other countries abroad. It is oriented to promote dedication, discipline and direction to the medical student to enhance his development as a skilled and compassionate physician.

Our small faculty-student ratio and strong mentoring support helps students in preparing to pass the US Medical Licensure Examination (USMLE) through the Educational Committee for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) licensure.
