“Life isn’t about finding yourself.  Life is about creating your self.”

As you get older you realise just how appropriate this is.  We know who we are and where we are.  We have probably invented ourselves many times during our journey to retirement.  Changed direction, followed new paths to reach the end of that journey, only to begin another in a different direction.

Retirement is the perfect time to catch up on all those things that you “wanted to do” throughout your working life, but didn’t have the time…

This is my story …

At the end of school, full of idealism and stories of Florence Nightingale; I set out on my adult journey to become “a nurse”.  I often refer to myself at that time of my life as being the last Florence Nightingale.  By the time I had finished two nursing certificates, I found I wasn’t ready to be part of the administration, sitting behind a desk.  Where were all the fevered brows that called for my attention?

Jokes aside I decided that nursing wasn’t for me and I became a wife and mother.

Still something was missing; the creative side of me was crying for attention.  This led to beginning an Art Club, creating an Art Gallery and finally in my 40’s I was able to attend College and then University.  This enabled me to follow my dreams and consolidate my art practices.

This facilitated another change of direction from 2 dimensional painting on canvas to 3 dimensional painting on Ceramic Sculpture.  I just loved that I wasn’t constrained by a flat canvas with an edge.  It was almost as exciting for me as for the early explorers who proved that the earth wasn’t flat.

My partner and I began a Commercial Pottery making terracotta cookware, leaving me time to work on my exhibition pieces.  Briefly I re-visited nursing working in the community to fund my art practice but eventually as the demands of the pottery grew I was able was able to leave those “fevered brows” to others and the pottery became our sole source of income.

At 62 arthritis, which is common in production potters, forced the closure of the pottery and another re-invention.  6 months before the official retirement age.  I began another creative pursuit, that of cooking and I held the rather dubious title of the oldest apprentice chef in Australia.  Hopefully I set a standard and no longer hold that title.  After I completed my apprenticeship I worked as a chef for about 4 years till I was no longer able to work at the pace demanded of a high pressure kitchen.

I tell you my story to illustrate the fact that my goals and dreams led me down a road of personal satisfaction, but not financial freedom.  My partner, who is younger than I, is now working harder and longer to maintain our standard of living.

Equally, I am aware that he is getting tired and I am getting older and the time we have to enjoy some quality time together is becoming shorter.

Imagine our delight when a way was found to enable my partner to retire early; where we will not have our standard of living eroded by inflation or economic trends.  Within a very short time frame we will be pursuing life in a relaxed and fun way doing all the things we planned to do as a couple in our third age.

We will have sufficient to provide for our family and to change the lives of others that we choose to help.

Have a listen to this video by co-member of The Six Figures Community, Nick Ames  as he explains how I am able to gift to you a key to join with me in this powerful sense of well being and freedom.

There will be no cost to you if you accept my offer. We will become friends and you will be part of this caring, giving community of people who work together on this simple life changing project.

There is absolutely nothing to sell, just the ability for you to share with others as I have with you.
