It is believed that an individual can attain moksha after visiting the Chardham. Visiting the Char Dham is equivalent to repenting one’s sins. This journey will purify the soul and it brings mental peace. Badrinath, Dwarka, Rameshwaram, and Jagganath-Puri are considered as the four most sacred pilgrimage as per Hindus.

However, Char Dham yatra can only be visited during a few times in a calendar year. It has specific times when one can go for the Yatra. The best time to visit Char Dham is from April to November. The period between May and June sees the most pilgrims for the yatra. This is because once the monsoon starts the number of people who visit is less.
Even though the locations of Char Dham are filled with natural beauty, reaching there is not an easy task. It is believed that the pilgrim for the yatra should encounter hardships and earn the benefits of the yatra. The yatra also emphasizes on self-exploration.
