A Guide To Make A Voice Memo Into A Ringtone On iPhone

It's so great if your mobile rings as "Honey, answer your phone!" when you receive a call from your boyfriend. That means It is a very cool thing to customize your iPhone ringtone for different contacts or notifications of calls, alarms or alerts. The embarrass will come when you hear your phone call ringtones which are like to  others ringtones, you can't distinguish whose phone call.



So, getting a special ringtone for yourself is necessary. And one of the most special ringtone is from your own recording. You can record your own voice or favorite voice to turn it into ringtone. But another question is coming: How to make a voice memo into a ringtone on iPhone? Keep reading to find the answers.


To begin with, 

The first thing you’ll need to do to set this as a ringtone is to record the voice message. If you look at the home screen on your iPhone, you’ll see an app called Voice Memos. If you can’t see this app, you need to swipe left from the home screen, search for ‘Voice Memos’, and you’ll be given the option to download the app again.



Additionally, you can find it on Setting app



Then, launch the Voice Memos app from your Home screen and tap the record button



Tap the stop button to stop the recording at any time



Tap Done when you are satisfied with your recording. Next, type a name into the field if you wish to name your recording and tap Save to save your recording.

You need to share the memo to your email after you’ve finished the voice recording and saveđ it, , so you can download the files to your iPhone: 

  • Click on the Recording 

  • Tap on the Share button (square) on the left

  • Click on Mail, Gmail, Outlook, or any other email service.

Once you’ve done this, change ‘To’ to your own email address and click the arrow to send the email. 

You need to go on your desktop computer to download the recording you sent to yourself from your email.



After that,

You need to change the voice recording into a ringtone. For this step, you need to be on your Mac or desktop to work. 

  • Downloading the ringtone from the email you sent it to 

  • Save it somewhere that’s easy to access.

However, When you download the recording, it’s saved as a .m4a file format and it needs to be changed to a m4r file format to be changed into a ringtone. To change the recording to a ringtone:

  • Right-click on the file

  • Click on Rename and add .m4r at the end

  • Click on the save and double-click on the voice memo, iTunes will open, and you’ll see the recording in ‘Tones’

  • Connect your iPhone to your PC

  • Drag the ringtone from the PC to your iPhone

After you’ve done this, you can switch back to your iPhone


Finally,

You need to set the voice recording as a ringtone on your iPhone. This step is quick and easy. If you’ve set a song as a ringtone before on your iPhone, you’ll be familiar with this step.

To set the voice note as a ringtone:

  • Open Settings app

  • Tap to ‘Sounds & Haptics’

  • Scroll down until you find the Ringtone tab and tap it

  • Select the voice memo you saved before


You can test this by asking a friend or family member to call you and you should be able to hear your ringtone.
