It is recommended that the children should involve themselves with a minimum of 60 minutes of physical activity on a daily basis. But, there are a number of schools that cannot afford this much time period on merely physical activities. Therefore, it was after deep consideration of this situation only that primary school PE programs were introduced. Now the full focus was on finding the PE teachers for the same, somebody who knows how to handle children and can teach them the skills and activities to be a responsible student.

Inculcation of these physical education programs in your school is an added plus, which not only makes children mentally and physically strong, but also strengthens them up academically. With the support of the right group of teachers, many more interesting things can be achieved with this program. So, what actually is the role of a PE teacher and what all are the responsibilities which are needed to be taken care of? Here is the glance at the roles and responsibilities of a physical educator, without whom you can't think of the success of these primary school PE programs.

  • Your hired PE teacher should be the one who can provide maximum physical activity and can keep the children involved in moderately or vigorously active tasks. All this will energize the students and will freshen up their mind for both sports and academics.

  • These physical educators must know how to effectively organize space, equipment and students. They must have knowledge about different equipment which can bring out the best children's performance, leading to active results.

  • They should have good expertise in their field and must know how to effectively plan, practice opportunities and structuring of classes for maximum student participation. This should occur while the students are physically active.

  • The hired physical educators must be experienced enough in teaching you the skills and activities that are easily transferable into the physical activity even outside of those daily PE classes.

  • Your PE teachers should know the art of motivating children. Their convincing power should be so strong that students should feel like joining their team voluntarily.

  • It is the responsibility of a physical educator to promote community activities for students, which includes recreational sports, gymnastics programs, dance classes and a range of other physical activities.
