90 DAY FIANCE: Mark and Nikki’s Pre-Nup Horror vs. Sweet Wedding for Aleksandra and Josh
In the latest episode of 90 DAY FIANCE, a two-hour show leading up to the season three finale, we got to see one wedding, one bachelorette party gone bad, and a parent-child reunion that was beyond sad.
We lived through a legal document tearing a hole in one engagement and a relationship between two women who need to decide who is in charge in one house.
There could not have been more of a difference between the tone and feeling to the scene of Josh and Aleksandra’s wedding in Idaho and Nikki’s dilemma over her wedding dress disappointment along with her pre-nuptial nightmare.
While Aleksandra still expressed some concern over being married so quickly, living in a place that is still alien to her, she got married to a man who adores her.
Her mother and father had their doubts, but the night before the wedding, Aleksandra’s mother said her piece. Josh’s a good man, loves and respects her daughter and will do all he can to make her happy. Aleksandra will grow comfortable in her new surroundings and with her new family.
The wedding was sweet and simple and Josh once again made an effort to dance, with what looks like a few lessons under his belt.
Do they have unresolved issues? Yes, including her feeling that her youth has been taken at the ripe old age of 21, but the love between these two not only looks strong, it is strong.
Nikki and Mark’s night was sour from the start. The wedding dress shopping trip ended badly when Nikki didn’t insist on Mark buying her the one she loved, despite the price tag.
Then there was the staged lawyer’s visit by Nikki to get advice on the pre-nup she had to sign or else…

While I am not familiar with the state law of Maryland as it relates to pre-nup agreements, Mark’s explanation to Nikki about how it willl affect her was at odds with the lawyer’s.
Key: Mark made Nikki think that anything she earned during their marriage would be hers and hers alone. In a typical contract of this type, any money earned that is shared in bank accounts or spent by the couple goes into the community pot, to be divided when the marriage dissolves. The separation of assets and income is formal and the contract language must be clear.
Without it, Mark could hypothetically claim as much right to her hypothetical income as a “model” as Nikki. Without her name on the deed to the house, or any assets of Mark’s that she shares during the marriage, she would be left with nothing of her own.
Note: We didn’t hear anything about a lump sum settlement or spousal support payments, which are typical if a pre-nup is entered into. We know these shows are edited to keep the action moving and let’s hope for her sake that there was something in the contract that gave her more than the clothes on her back if Mark decides to pull the plug.
There has been a running theme in the engagement between these two. Mark has once again chosen a woman who is young and a Filipina. He lives in fear of being left and taken advantage of by a woman who does nothing but remind him of his ex.
While that could be a legitimate concern, the easy fix would have been to spend more time with her in the Philippines and not rush into the marriage. With his business and upkeep on his home, it looks like that wouldn’t be ideal or easy, but neither is this.
One of these couples has kept it simple, another has complicated it with red flags. From sneak peek scenes of next week’s season finale, it appears that there is a wedding day for Mark and Nikki. That means she’s thrown caution to the wind and signed the agreement, unless Mark did a 180 and changed his mind.
