9 Simple tips to double your linkedin connections in 5 minutes per day

With over 225 million people, Likedin is the world’s largest professional social network. Linkedin is very efficient for marketing your brand and once used effectively, you can increase your online presence, drive web visitors to your site or blog and instantly increase sales. This helped me to prosper in my affiliate marketing programme while using this free platform. Well these are some of the tips to put into consideration when you are planning to benefit from this social network.

1.      Update your status daily. This could include posting your latest blog post, sharing an article or interesting slide share presentation that is of value to your industry. Be more active on linkedin as only 1/3 of the platform users’ login each day according to studies.

2.      Participate or start a linkedin group discussion weekly. This will give you a chance to share your expertise with your likeminded people.

3.      Follow influencers and ask or answer questions on their posts. These can notice you online and may be endorse you for your skills.

4.      Join relevant linkedin groups and focus on 3-5 of these and stay active on each. Studies show that 81% of linkedin members belong to at least one group.

5.      Send one new invite daily and personalize it as this shows it belongs to you. Do not use the standard default invite request. Write a short message about how you know them or why you want to know them, make it look interesting. Also describe yourself as you would in person, say what you do like “I’m a web designer who designed……….”

6.      Prominently display your contact so that people can easily contact you. Also always update your linkedin profile.

7.      Endorse people you know for their skills with no expectation of reciprocation.

8.      Promote your linkedin profile. This can involve placing it on your business card, your email signature or website or blog among other promotion strategies.

9.      Include links to your blog or website in your linkedin profile. This will help you build credibility by displaying your full online presence.
