Vitaly Foods: Our Story, Mission, Vision, and Why We Started This Business
Food is deeply personal. For many of us, food is not just about convenience—it is about tradition, health, and the comfort of knowing what we are feeding our families.
We grew up in households where roti was made fresh every day. It was never something bought weeks in advance or stored in a freezer. Fresh roti had a short life, and that was its strength. Soft, warm, and simple—meant to be eaten the same day it was made.
The Moment of Realization
One day, while shopping at a grocery store, we noticed packaged roti with expiry dates months away. That moment made us pause. How could something as simple as roti last that long?
The answer was clear: long shelf life comes from heavy processing, preservatives, freezing, and automation. While these methods make food easier to transport and store, they also move it far away from what roti was meant to be.
For families used to fresh, daily cooking, eating roti that lasts for months simply does not feel right.
Why Fresh Food Matters
Freshly made food is different—nutritionally, emotionally, and culturally. When food is prepared daily using simple, natural ingredients, it:
Preserves taste, softness, and aroma
Requires no artificial preservatives or colors
Is easier to digest
Reflects traditional home-style cooking
Builds trust in what goes on your dinner table
Fresh food does not need to be complicated. It needs to be honest.
Our Commitment to Fresh, Daily-Made Food
This belief led us to start making food locally, fresh every day, for our community. Our focus has always been on quality over shelf life and nutrition over convenience.
We prepare a variety of fresh roti options, made daily, including:
Fresh wheat roti
Methi roti
Multigrain roti
Masala roti
Other seasonal and traditional varieties
In addition to roti, we also make:
Fresh parathas, prepared daily
Fresh samosas, made the same day, never frozen
Every product is created using natural ingredients, without artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives.
Local, Daily, and Human-Made
Unlike mass-produced food that is made in fully automated factories and shipped frozen across countries, our food is:
Made locally
Delivered fresh
Prepared by people, not machines
Crafted with care and attention
Fresh food should feel like it came from a kitchen—not a factory.
Our Vision
Our vision is simple: to make fresh, healthy, vegetarian food easily available to families who value quality, tradition, and transparency. We believe that good food supports better health, stronger families, and a deeper connection to what we eat every day.
Why We Started Vitaly Foods
We started Vitaly Foods with one clear mission:
to provide fresh food made daily to the residents of Ottawa—food that we would proudly serve our own families.
At the heart of Vitaly Foods is the belief that fresh should not be optional, and that roti, paratha, and samosas should taste the way they were always meant to.
