UPSC CSE 2024 AIR-1 Shakti Dubey Allotted Uttar Pradesh Cadre

Shakti Dubey secured the All India Rank 1 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2024, which is one of the most challenging exams in India. Her achievement reflects years of hard work, discipline and strong dedication to her goal of serving the nation. She has been allotted the Uttar Pradesh cadre, where she will serve the country through the Indian Administrative Service. Shakti Dubey’s Background 

Shakti Dubey hails from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. She spent her childhood days there and was raised in an environment that valued public service and academics. Her father serves in the police while her mother is a homemaker; they both instilled a strong passion for academic achievement in Shakti Dubey’s mind. She holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in Biochemistry, and she developed a keen interest in science since then. However, she decided to pursue her dream of joining the civil services because she wanted to bring a positive change in the lives of people. She was deeply interested in making people feel heard and solving their problems through administrative practices. 

Shakti Dubey’s UPSC Attempts and Preparation Journey

Shakti Dubey’s UPSC preparation is a true example of perseverance despite failures. Her success in the UPSC civil services examination 2024 came through persistence and strategic effort. She gave 5 UPSC attempts and failed UPSC Prelims three times, but she never gave up on her dreams. She then qualified for UPSC Mains in her fourth attempt but couldn't make it to the final list. However, in her fifth attempt in 2024, she qualified for all three stages of examination UPSC Prelims, Mains and IAS Mock Interview. Her persistence paid off in her fifth attempt and after 7 years of consistent effort, she earned the top spot with AIR-1, proving that consistency and adaptability are key to success. 

Shakti Dubey’s Cadre Allotment

As per Shakti Dubey’s wish, she was granted the Uttar Pradesh Cadre after being selected for the Indian Administrative Services. She topped the UPSC civil services examinations, so she was effortlessly shortlisted for the administrative services, which she wanted. She resonates deeply with the culture, heritage and history of Uttar Pradesh, as she was brought up in Prayagraj, a city of rich cultural value in Uttar Pradesh. 

Shakti Dubey’s Preparation Strategies

Shakti Dubey's UPSC preparation strategy included a disciplined, integrated approach. She concentrated on a minimal booklist instead of mugging up on too many books and made sure she regularly revised her topics. She also practised daily answer writing and consistent mock tests for both Prelims and Mains. Shakti Dubey built strong foundations with NCERTs and referred to The Hindu, PIB for daily current affairs. She prepared extensive digital notes using OneNote, which helped her sort large chunks of information and most importantly, she prioritised self-care practices such as quality sleep and a nutritious diet.
