  1. State Licence 

A State Licence is applicable for medium-sized food businesses operating within a single state. It is required for businesses with an annual turnover between Rs. 12 lakh and Rs. 20 crore. This licence applies to medium manufacturers, storage units, transporters, retailers, marketers, and distributors.  The validity of this licence is 1 to 5 years. This licence ensures compliance for businesses operating at a larger scale within a state. 

  1. Central Licence 

A Central Licence is required for large-scale food businesses operating across multiple states or involved in interstate operations. It is useful for a business with an annual turnover above Rs. 20 crore. It covers large manufacturers, importers, exporters, and businesses operating in central government agencies, airports, and seaports. The licence remains valid for 1 to 5 years. This licence demonstrates full compliance for high-scale operations across India.
