Google account recovery

In order to recover the Google account, you need to recover your password if forgotten. Google asks for few verification steps after entering the email address and phone number, depending upon the recovery information, security history entered during sign in.

1. Password recovery

Enter the password to the google account which was set already. If forgotten, choose the option “try another way” where google shows you other ways to recover your account.

2. Methods for verification

Verification can be prompted by various means like a recovery email address, registered phone number, another authentication app, etc. A one-time password or one-time verification code is sent to the linked email or mobile number. After entering the code, you can access the google account. If the access is still denied, select “I don’t have access” and the google will direct you to the other verification options.

3. Questions for account recovery

While signing up on google, few security questions are asked for recovery later, if required. You can select those questions yourself and answer them while recovering the account to confirm the ownership of the account.

4. Recovery instructions

The password can be reset after successful verification. It is suggested to choose a strong and unique password that you can remember and try to avoid easily predictable passwords, to avoid hacking into your account.
