Interesting design, suitable size - photo wallpapers always look appropriate in the interior. The image, going into perspective, visually expands the space of a small room. Fantastic flowers and landscapes on the walls help to convey any design ideas.

If you have long dreamed of a non-standard design for the walls of your home, but think that gluing an image consisting of fragments on your own will be quite difficult, use our practical advice.

To easily glue wallpaper evenly

Prepare the wall by removing any remaining previous coatings. The surface should be smooth, clean and dry, all uneven areas should be filled. The surface color should be uniformly light. If you made any marks during or earlier work, they should be erased before starting work.

Apply a deep penetration primer to the wall to improve the adhesion of the adhesive and the substrate. Allow it to dry completely.

Before you start pasting, make sure that the room has suitable conditions: no drafts, air temperature around 18-20°C.

Lay the photo wallpaper on the floor with the picture facing up, join the parts, check the print quality. After installation, the manufacturers will not accept any quality claims if you have any.

Joining photo wallpapers before installation

1. Check if there are technological (white) stripes on the product. Before installation, those located on the left are cut off. And it is recommended to glue the fragments themselves along the right edge.

2. If there are more than four canvases in the composition, number them starting from the leftmost one in the bottom row. Marks are applied to the reverse side and erased before installation if the wallpaper is light.

3. Draw a horizontal line parallel to the wall and a vertical line perpendicular to the floor to guide you when gluing. Use a building level for accuracy.

4. Select the glue depending on the type of wallpaper. Non-woven wallpaper is glued with more viscous compounds. The glue is applied directly to the wall, then the canvas is applied and leveled. If the photo wallpaper is printed on paper, the glue is applied to the wall and to the canvas on the back side. Then proceed to installation.

5. Installation starts from the center. The first will be the lower left fragment from the intersection of the marking lines.

6. Press the canvas against the wall and smooth it with a rubber roller or soft cloth, moving from the center to the edges to release air from under the canvas.

7. As soon as you see that the first element is firmly and evenly glued, you can move on to the next one.

8. Place the canvas end-to-end with the first one (if there is no technological strip on the canvas). Smooth it.

If there is a technological (white) strip, follow these steps to obtain a perfect joint:

Glue the next sheet so that it overlaps the previous one (with an overlap)

Cut both sheets with a wallpaper knife using a ruler

Lift the top sheet and remove the cut edge of the bottom sheet. Smooth out the joint.

9. Use a soft cloth to remove any remaining glue if it is visible at the joint.

10. After you have glued all the canvases, make sure that there is no draft in the room, close the door and leave the wallpaper to dry.

Paper photo wallpapers are suitable for those who like to update their interior often. For example, in a child's room, they will not have time to bore the growing baby, and you will not have to worry about extra expenses. Paper is environmentally friendly, but requires attention during installation.

Non-woven photo wallpaper is a more durable solution. It is easier to install, as the glue is applied only to the wall, and you can move the canvas to achieve perfect joints. All that remains is to choose bright and suitable in design.
