Introducing All in One Japanese Language Toolbox

Hi everyone, I hope you’re all doing well.

In this blog post, I’ll be introducing some Japanese language tools that I’ve personally developed.

My name is Bibek (ビべク), and I’ve been living in Japan for the past few years. 

Learning Japanese was so challenging for me, and yeah, it's the same for others, too. 

And with the idea of sharing what I have learned with others, so that it can help ease their Japanese language journey, I built this site: NihongoTools.

However, there are not enough study materials on my site, as I have not been able to dedicate time to it due to my primary job. But despite this, I’ve managed to build a few useful tools by mixing my programming skills with my passion for the Japanese language.

So, below are those tools I have built.

Japanese Name Converter

As a foreigner living in Japan, we need to have a Katakana version of our name. This tool helps you convert your name into Japanese Katakana, ensuring accuracy and following the proper conventions for pronunciation.

Furigana Maker 

This tool adds furigana (reading aids) to kanji characters to so that you can read each kanji characters, words, sentences or even long articles.

Romaji Converter

This tool converts Japanese text into romaji. 

Half-Width Katakana Converter 

If you wish to do paperwork online in Japan, you will need to input your information in Half-width katakana format. Doing it manually is a bit complex and confusing. So, using this tool, you can easily convert your full-width kana text to Half-width katakana.

 

Kanji To Kana Converter 

Using this tool, you can convert kanji characters into their Hiragana or katakana equivalents. 

English To Japanese Era Date Converter 

So, if you are involved in any official work in Japan, you must know the Japanese era Date, especially your date of birth and the current date, as these often appear in Japanese official documents. It can also be calculated manually but obviously we do not have that much time. So to convert any western format date to Japanese era date format, I developed this tool. 

Era Date To Western Date Converter

This tool converts a Japanese era date to its equivalent Western date based on the Gregorian calendar.

Arabic To Japanese Number Converter

Learning Japanese numerals is another challenge for foreigners due to their own unique structure. It can be quite confusing and hard to remember at first. So, I have developed this tool to make it easier for you to learn the Japanese number system. You simply enter a number like 123, and it will provide the equivalent Japanese number in Kanji, Hiragana, and even Romaji.

English To Katakana

This tool translates Romaji text to its Katakana equivalent. 

And that’s just the beginning! 

I am continually developing new features and tools for Kanji learning, Japanese Vocabulary and Grammar Learning, etc.

I am also working on making an Android and ios app so that it will be easier for you to access those tools on the go. 

Ultimately, my goal is to share everything that will help you grow your Japanese language skills.
