Ethiopia's healthcare system has improved, but there are still many challenges. Many people, especially in rural areas, struggle to get medical care because there aren't enough doctors, hospitals, or medicines. The government is working to improve healthcare access. For example, the Health Extension Program trains community health workers to provide care right in the villages. This has focused on the improvement related to mother and children, vaccinations, and disease prevention. However, communicable diseases like malaria, tuberculosis (TB), and HIV are still significant problems.

Non-communicable conditions such as diabetes are on the rise, mainly driven by shifts in lifestyle patterns. In response, Ethiopia has been working to improve its healthcare infrastructure by constructing more advanced medical facilities and increasing the number of trained healthcare workers. Global organizations' services have played an essential role in these efforts. However, challenges persist, as many individuals still struggle to access healthcare services due to financial constraints, the distant locations of medical centers, and a scarcity of resources. While there may not be many hospitals, those that exist have advanced facilities and work with international medical systems to provide convenient treatments for serious health issues like heart problems, cancer, kidney transplants, liver transplants, IVF treatments, urology issues, and vascular diseases.
