Mitsubishi Motors produces the Mitsubishi eK wagon, a compact five-door, four-seater minicar in the Japanese Kei category. The eK wagon, introduced in 2001, features a 0.7L inline three-cylinder 12-valve 3G83 SOHC engine producing 29 KW at 6000 rpm, and is available in 2WD or 4WD configurations. It is equipped with a 5-speed manual, 3-speed automatic, or 4-speed automatic transmission, and features MacPherson strut front and rear suspension. Mitsubishi Motors' Easy Select all-wheel-drive system allows 4WD models to switch between 2WD and 4WD-High with a simple lever, even at 80 km/h, to suit different road conditions. The eK wagon's interior features a large center-meter instrument display and mini trash box, providing comfortable seating for four adults. Its 1550mm long roof accommodates four adults, and a bench seat is available at the front due to a column shifter and pedal parking brake. The 2013 EK wagon boasts an airy interior with soft-shape trim, an easy-to-use center panel with piano black finishing, automatic climate control, and rear sofa-like seats. Its increased wheelbase and height provide a more comfortable space than previous models, reducing fatigue on long trips. The windshield screen and front door windows are equipped with UV-reducing glass, which effectively reduces some percentage of ultraviolet radiation.

The 2013 EK wagon is equipped with a Mitsubishi RISE safety body, which combines a high-strength cabin structure with a front end designed to absorb impact energy. This design mitigates head and leg injuries for pedestrians and passengers. Other safety features include SRS airbags, ABS, EBD brake assist, and Active Stability Control. The 2013 EK wagon features a new MIVEC engine, a 0.7L inline 3-cylinder 3B20 OHC, producing 38 KW at 7000 rpm and 3.8L/100 KM, and can be connected to an automatic or INVECS-III CVT with sub-gear train transmission.

In 2006, Mitsubishi introduced the second generation of the EK wagon, featuring a shift selector moved from the steering column to the dash for easier shifting and access via the front passenger seat.
