There are two bones in our forearm: radius and ulna. These bones are connected and stabilized by the wrist and elbow joints. When the radius breaks from the mid-portion and the wrist, the condition is known as Galeazzi fracture. This type of fracture could be complete or partial and may also result in dislocation of the ulna at the wrist. All this can only be detected by the doctor after proper diagnosis.

Causes of Galeazzi Fracture

The main cause of Galeazzi fracture is falling on an outstretched arm. Symptoms of Galeazzi Fracture

Diagnosis of a Galeazzi Fracture

X-rays will also show if there are multiple breaks or dislocations of the bone.

Treatment of Galeazzi Fracture

Galeazzi fracture is a serious condition, and most often it requires surgery. Open reduction surgery is performed to fix the condition.
