Kenya-Tanzania Border Crossing Requirements

The following documents are required for international visitors traveling from Kenya to Tanzania by Road:

1. A valid Passport
2. Tanzanian Visa
3. A yellow fever vaccination certificate.
4. A bus ticket and if going back to Kenya after the visit, a return bus ticket might be required

Please note that a Tanzanian visa can be acquired on arrival at the border. It costs 50$ for all nationalities and 100$ for USA residents. They only accept the visa money in cash, card payment is not advised.

If coming from Tanzania to Kenya, the following documents are required:

1. A Valid Passport
2. A yellow fever vaccination certificate
3. Be eTA verified
4. A bus Boarding Ticket

The following documents are required for residents and Nationals of both countries and East Africa.

1. A valid Passport/ Temporary Permit
2. A yellow fever vaccination certificate
3. If one is using a temporary permit, it should be accompanied by their original identity cards
