However, it is not clear whether these benefits come from krill oil or because of other elements present in the supplements.

2. High Cholesterol:

Some research has found that krill oil products, in particular, reduce total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol. It helps to increase good cholesterol (HDL) in people with high cholesterol. Triglyceride is another type of body fat, which can also be reduced with the help of the this oil.   • Fish oil is obtained from the tissues of fishes like mackerel, herring, salmon, sardines and anchovies. On the other hand, krill oil is derived from the Euphausia superba (Antarctic krill).
  • It contains more antioxidants than that of the fish oil.
  • The fragrance and taste is better than fish oil. It has less fishy odor.
  • It is more beneficial for your heart.

However, fish oil is easily available and is cheaper than krill oil.

Krill oil is used to treat heart disease, high blood pressure (hypertension), stroke, cancer, dry eye disease, depression, osteoarthritis, high levels of cholesterol (hyperlipidemia) and premenstrual syndrome.
