6 Quick Tips on Cleaning And Maintaining Entrance Floor Mats

by Wearwell LLC Leading Manufacturer & Supplier of Ergonomic Floor
It is crucial to think about how you can position your mats and care for them to get the best floor matting system. The proper positioning and maintenance of your entrance mat will extend its useful life and give you the best value for money.

Poor maintenance can make floors slippery. They can cause slips and falls, which can make them potentially dangerous. It is important to keep the floor and, more importantly, the entrance mat clean.

Here are some tips for maintaining floor mats:

  • Place your floor mat.

It should be placed on a clean, dry, and free from dirt, sand, or grit. Place the mat in front of the entrance. This will remove excess moisture from the feet of people during rains.

  • Daily vacuum or sweep the mat.

Daily vacuuming should remove all dirt, grit, and sand. Use a professional vacuum cleaner equipped with either a brush strip or a spinning brush tool to vacuum the mat.

To remove dirt from floor mats properly, you will need to brush.

  • Regularly clean under the mat.

It is important that the floor underneath the mat be free from dirt. This will reduce mat movement.

There are many options for securing your mat to the ground. A mat placed on a shiny or slippery floor, or carpeted surfaces, may be susceptible to movement and should be secured.

Removable mats should have grippers on the back. This helps reduce movement and allows moisture from underneath. It is also more hygienic and can help avoid unpleasant odors.

  • Deep cleaning of floor mats

A vacuum cleaner cannot remove all dirt and grime. An all-purpose carpet spotter can be used. This is our recommendation if you want to deep clean the entire mat.

  • You should dry your floor mat.

Dry the mat flat and when moving it, do not fold it. Rolling a mat up is the best way to move it. Let the mat dry completely before you put it back in use. When drying or storing the mat, avoid damaging its edges.

  • Keep and repair the edges of your mats.

Mat edges must be regularly inspected, maintained, repaired, or replaced if they become worn or damaged.

Avoid polishing floors on or around a mat. The edge should not be in direct contact with the pad or brush. Before you do any floor cleaning, remove the mat. And, always follow the manufacturer's instructions for floor mat maintenance.
