5 Ways to Motivate Your Clients This Winter
Winter is coming! It is that time of the year when people get lazy and want to stay under their blankets longer than they usually do during summers. For a personal trainer, winters bring a new challenge. Keeping your clients motivated can be a big task. Here are 4 ways that will help you inspire your customers to stay fit even when the mercury drops.
Adjust the thermostat in your gym
This might seem silly, but the common complain of gym users is an uncomfortable environment that is usually too cold for them. Have you thermostat in your gym checked and find out if it is comfortable enough for everybody or not. Make it a point to let your gym users know that the thermostat has been tuned for comfort and now they have no excuses not to come to gym on time.
Plan an event
There is nothing better to keep your clients focus on training during winters then setting short-term goals for them. An event can be great tool for motivation. You can plan an open event. Invite people to come and join in the event and get your clients excited about coming out at the top with great performance. Organizing an event will give you the added benefit of marketing your fitness services. To gain maximum benefit of the event, spread the word as effectively as you can. If you use a personal trainer software, send out communications and invitations and ask your clients to bring their friends as well.
Stress on benefits
It is very necessary to remind your clients of the benefits of working out, especially during winters. Working out regularly helps in dealing with stress, feel energetic and good throughout the day, combat the downsides of being overweight and underwhelmed, and the overall improvement in quality of life. You can do this via prep talks or electronic communication (email, SMS or a motivational video), whatever works best in the case of your clients. Just ensure that you are not doing anything less than 100% to motivate your clients, we suggest you do both – that is give a prep talk and follow-up with an electronic communication.
Keep a track of individual accomplishments
Recognise the efforts your clients are putting in to embrace the challenge and keep working out during winters. List down all of their individual accomplishments and congratulate them by celebrating every tiny proud moment with a positive gesture. This way it is very likely that they will come back the next day with more enthusiasm in their heart and also motivate those that are lagging behind. Personal trainer software makes keeping track of individual accomplishments, assessment history and personalised goals very simple.
